The Farmhouse difference
Unique individuality is celebrated/embraced. We foster creativity, curiosity, character and resilience in every single one of our students at a personal level, because there is no one size fits all. And that's how we like it.
By mastering tasks through self-directed work, children develop a profound belief in their own ability to navigate new challenges.
Hands-on work sits alongside reading, writing and maths. Children learn to manage their own time and see a task through, which is what makes the learning stick.
Our graduates are empathetic leaders and critical thinkers, ready to adapt to the complexities of a world reshaped by technology and AI.
Scientific education
Children here aren't marched through the same page at the same time. The room is set up so they can follow what genuinely interests them, with a guide nearby to stretch them when they're ready. It can look relaxed, but the structure is there, just invisible, and it covers everything the national curriculum requires.
Ages mix on purpose. Younger children learn from older ones. Older children teach what they know, and teaching is the test, because you cannot explain something you only half understand. It builds patience, leadership, and friendships across year levels.

Environment as teacher
Learning does not stop at the classroom door. The campus sits inside North Head Sanctuary, so bushland, headland and ocean air are part of an ordinary day, and exploring is something children do rather than something they read about.
The journey forward
Limited placements available.
The best way to understand Farmhouse is to see it in action. We host regular tours on Monday and Friday mornings at our North Head campus, come and join us.
View tour datesAfter your tour, you'll be invited to submit a formal application. We'll then arrange a time for your child to spend a morning in the classroom for an observation session.
Once a place is offered, we'll walk you and your child through settling in, so the first day feels like coming back, not starting fresh.

Voices of our community
"Our daughter told us she wanted to return to Montessori. She was searching, in her own way, to better satisfy her deep love of learning and curiosity for the world. We have loved watching her blossom this year. It really is beyond what we could have possibly hoped for."
"We moved from overseas to the Northern Beaches specifically for Farmhouse Montessori. The kids adore the school, the teachers are inspirational, and the parent community is more engaged than any previous school I've experienced."
